Junior Womens National Team ID Camps

softball_canada_2015

Hello Coaches and Administrators,

In 2016 Softball Canada will be holding three regional identifications camps for female athletes born between 1998 and 2000.

The three camps will take place in Brampton Ontario, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Cloverdale, British Columbia. The Ontario camp will be held May 27th – 29th, and the Saskatoon and Cloverdale camps on June 3rd – 5th.

One of the challenges we have each year is ensuring that this message gets to those athletes who are eligible to tryout for the Jr team. We regularly hear from athletes that they didn’t know about the camp or found out very late in the process. We want every girl who wants to try our for the Jr team to be aware of the opportunity. I’m asking for your help in ensuring that this message gets directly to all eligible athletes.

These three camps will be the only open invitation opportunity for athletes within the age group to be assessed by national team staff. Scouting will take place at the U16 and U18 national championships in addition to the three regional camps. In 2017 an invitation only camp will be held to select the final roster for the 2017 Jr Women’s National Team. We would really appreciate your help with spreading the word, If you have any questions, please let me know. Happy Holidays!

Tryouts for the 2016 U12 Cole Harbour Comets Rep Fastball Team will be held Sunday October 4 from 10am to 1pm at the Flagstone Fields. The team will be coached by Shawn Fuller. The players are expected to be able to commit to a busy travel tournament and practice schedule in 2016.

Girls may also be considered for the U12 Development team for next season as well. We encourage any girls moving up next season to U12 who wish to try out to attend.
